Banana...?

before patrick designated me Restlessly Random, i used to design under another name... bananamation.

i was laying here on the couch listening to the boys play mario kart (to tired to murder them myself tonight) and out of nowhere comes a phrase "I'm a Dole Banana!" followed closely by the memories surrounding it.

it was just silly me-ness that made me stick a banana sticker on my shirt and declare to everyone at the lunch table, that i was now a dole banana. not only this, but to also find it incredibly funny all on my lonesome.

and for a long time that name stuck, i remember people reffering to me as db in high school (the inital event happening in middle school). everything i created i signed db, i even had a little banana logo and everything...

strange how memories reappear like that.

Everyone always talks about etsy mini on the forums and I just figured out what it is.

Sweet.

Discovery and the History Channel

i've been watching a lot of both. i get into kicks where i watch those stations non stop - or maybe it's just that those shows run a bunch of great shows and then a bunch i'm not interested... whatever the reason, i'm watching now.

most recently i have seen the underground tombs and tunnels in various cities in europe, learned how sodom and ghomora could have happened, and they may know what city it is, one on the lost city of atlantis.

I even saw the one about the titanic and the almost/sort of conspiricy concerning the joint where it broke... i actually didn't watch this one on purpose, but edward herrmann was narrating it and i LOVE him. i left it on to listen to his voice, and it ended up being really really interesting.

I saw two different episodes about mars too, and those were really great. even though i can never be an astronomer, being much too right brained i can't wrap my mind around the science behind it all. One mars episode was why and how mars died, very soon after finishing the process of becoming (how sad!), and the second was about how they have a plan to go to mars and study it, and then how to terraform it later... it's a super cool idea and i would love to be alive to see it. i really feel that we need to unite as a planet before that can happen. we all just need to agree to disagree - simple logic, but it's true.

oh, and i love mike rowe. i love him very very much. i have started watching deadliest catch again, not because i like the show (though it did make me cry the other day when one of the ships saved a guy who went overboard on a ship near them) but because mike rowe narrates it. mmmm.... mike rowe... i've seen so many dirty jobs look appealing because of him.

... by the way, i'm either surfing etsy, or working on a project for etsy while these shows are on... i'm getting something accomplished while i'm watching tv... i swear!! you believe me right?...

Why I Truly Love the Internet

Today I found out that Epona was, in Roman Mythology, the goddess of horses, donkeys, and mules.

This after searching for the names of the three Goddesses that created Hyrule and the Triforce. (i'm going to rename my desktop icons with shit from zelda cuz i'm a dork like that...)

And I found it all on Wikipedia. That site has fucking EVERYTHING!!!

Voyager

how come the only time i have been happy or able to cope with the whole matt mess is while i was watching the Voyager Marathon that was going on on Spike?

the only way i could get him off of my mind is when the delta quadrant consumed all of my attention. when commercials came on i had a problem not crying, but once the show was back, boy was he gone.

and every time that i had to stop watching it for some reason or another (going out for shopping, or going to work here at the end of the week) i've gotten thoroughly pissed off and sad.

it's too bad i can't watch it until the end of time so i don't have to deal with the breakup, and i don't have to deal with the fact that i don't know what i'm gonna do when and if this is over for good. because i can't bear to think about that.

The Scarecrow of Oz

"Every breeze makes a draught and the sun shines in the daytime, when there's no need of it, and disappears just as soon as it begins to get dark."
